The Cape Hindu Cultural Society

Outreach

In November 2017, the Cape Hindu Cultural Society, in line with its Constitution, decided to set up a dedicated committee with the broad aim and objective of providing a formal structure through which the Cape Hindu Cultural Society members can provide support and assistance to communities in need in the greater Western Cape region.

The outreach committee

The outreach committee is putting together a calendar for the various drives that will take place throughout the year.

To date, we have conducted two drives, Buy a Food Hamper drive over December 2017, and the stationary drive over January 2018 (still to be distributed). The December drive saw us raise R 7 500.00, allowing us to donate 86 food parcels to the communities of the Gatesville seniors and Vygieskraal informal settlement.

We would like to thank our donors and the Cape Town Community for helping us help others, and creating a better life for those in need.

The Cape Hindu Cultural Society

Winston Churchill famously said: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” We will be trying to give life to these words by giving to the less fortunate.

All pictures of our recent events can be found on the CHCS website under the Gallery section. If there are any projects or causes that community members would like to nominate, please do so and we can look at how the CHCS can be of assistance.
